Everything in Kemback
Quicken's depth, a modern app's ease, and room for the whole household. Everything below is on the Free plan unless it says otherwise.
A real register
Accounts with a running balance, splits across categories, transfers between accounts, and cleared and reconciled status.
Reconciliation
Tick off what's on your statement until the difference is zero. Reconciled transactions are locked, so the past stays put.
Category or envelope budgets
Plan per category, or give every dollar a job. Switch between them any time; it never changes your data.
A budget from your spending
Kemback looks at your recent months and suggests an amount for each category. Keep, change or skip each one.
Rules
Rename messy bank payees and categorize automatically. Preview what a rule would change before it changes anything.
Review inbox
New transactions wait for a quick look. Confirm them one by one, all at once, or recategorize as you go.
Bills and recurring
A calendar of what's due, matched to payments as they arrive, with "enter now" for bills you pay ahead.
Bills that went up
When a bill costs more than usual, Kemback shows you how much. Recurring charges show their yearly cost.
Safe to spend
What's really available: cash on hand, less what's held for bills and budgets. Plus a 90-day projection for each account.
Savings goals
A target and a date, funded from an account or an envelope, with progress and the monthly amount needed.
Overview
Budget bars that turn amber and red, net worth and its change, spending against last month, bills and alerts at a glance.
Reports
Net worth over time, and income and spending by category, payee or tag. Every bar opens the transactions behind it.
Alerts
Over budget, unusual spending, large purchases, bank fees, low balances and bills due, by email, in the app or on your iPhone.
A weekly summary
One email on Monday mornings: the month against budget, what's over, fees and bills coming up. One click turns it off.
Import from anywhere
OFX, QFX, QIF and CSV files from any bank, with a column mapper for CSVs. Importing again never duplicates.
Switch from Quicken or Mint
Guided switching from a Quicken QIF export or a Mint transactions file, with every balance checked.
Households
Shared and private accounts, roles for owners, editors, viewers and advisors, invitations, and a tamper-evident activity log.
Security
Passkeys, two-factor sign-in and device management. Kemback never stores your bank password.
Export everything
All your data as JSON or CSV, any time. Your history is yours.
Web and iPhone
Every screen in the browser and in the iPhone app (in beta), which also works offline. Android and Windows are in development.
Automatic bank sync Plus, coming soon
New transactions from your banks without exporting, through Plaid, with read-only access.
