Use Kemback with Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Ask your AI assistant “how much did we spend eating out this month?”, “which bills are due next week?” or “can I afford a $300 purchase?”, and get the answer from your real Kemback numbers instead of a guess.
Kemback runs an MCP server (the Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI assistants use to connect to apps) at:
https://kemback.com/mcp
Connecting an AI assistant is part of the Plus plan.
What the assistant can do
- Read your accounts and balances, search transactions, check your budget, see bills coming due, follow net worth over time, summarize spending by category, payee or tag, show cash flow by month, and tell you what’s safe to spend.
- Only from the households you choose when you connect it, and only what you could see in Kemback yourself: other members’ private accounts stay private.
- Nothing else. It can’t change, add or delete anything, or move money, and it never sees your password or your bank sign-in.
Amounts reach the assistant as exact whole numbers of cents with their currency, so it never rounds your money.
Connect Claude
- In Claude (on the web or the desktop app), open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Enter
https://kemback.com/mcpand choose Add. - Choose Connect. Kemback opens: sign in, choose the households to share, and choose Allow read-only access.
Claude’s Free plan allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors first, and then each member connects their own account.
Connect ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins), choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Kemback, choose a public endpoint and enter
https://kemback.com/mcp, with OAuth as the authentication. Confirm, and create it. - Sign in to Kemback when it opens, choose the households, and allow read-only access.
Whether your ChatGPT plan or workspace can add custom servers is up to OpenAI and your workspace’s admin.
Connect Microsoft Copilot Studio
- In your agent in Copilot Studio, go to Tools → Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
- Enter a name, a description, and the server URL
https://kemback.com/mcp, and choose OAuth 2.0 → Dynamic discovery. - Create the connection, sign in to Kemback, choose the households, and allow read-only access.
Your privacy
- You choose the households, and the assistant gets only the answer to each question it asks, when it asks.
- What the assistant receives is then also covered by its provider’s terms (Anthropic, OpenAI or Microsoft). Check whether they use your conversations to train their models.
- Every request an assistant makes is recorded in your account’s activity log.
- See or disconnect every assistant at any time in Security → Connected apps, on the web or in the iPhone or Android app. Disconnecting works at once.
